Off-roading with the buggy.

Among our various fun activities, we went walking in the muddy woods.

Michele thought that Lucie's stroller didn't need to be dipped in the stream, but Greg thought it was a great way to rinse off the mud.

There were plenty of obstacles to overcome, but the whole family made it home safely...

Will she fall in???
Cousin Hugo took a special liking to Lucie.
Some of the places that we walked were really nice and beautiful...

Lucie sitting in the same wooden high chair her father sat in all those years ago: no 5-point strapping, no padding, no safety nets, no brain damage (at least not in Lucie).
Michele made some new friends, whom we later had over for dinner.
Lucie and Michele shared a buttercup in the field.

Lucie goes to Bourgogne

Greeting Fans, I am glad to be back home after a wonderful weekend at my great-grandmother's house where I turned 7 months...
Lucie got to meet her cousin Camille, she's the daughter of Charles and Sara, who are Greg's first cousin and his soon-to-be wife.Lucie was a bit miffed that Camille got to eat while she had to watch.
Lucie developed a killer sucker look. It's the look to launch a thousand ships.

The family took lots of walk in the woods, which was a nice change from walking around Paris. Lucie got carried around like royalty. This is a great place to sit and pull Mom's hair as well.
She got pushed around in her great stroller.
Camille joined in the fun.
Lucie went to sit in the green field, and got cut in half by a blade of grass.
Thankfully, the cut was only temporary Dad wanted to kiss her, but she was too busy laughing her little head off.
She took a small flight with Dad at the helm.
Such a big field for such a little girl...
Sitting on Dad's shoulders is such great fun....

That's all folks! Sorry to have to go...

All Dogs Go to Heaven

Our dog, Brodie had a stroke on late-Sunday morning and we had her put down this evening. We don't know where Brodie started her life or what she did her first few years, but we know that she had a big heart and while she was with us she was a very happy, well-traveled little dog. She lived in Austin, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Washington DC, Paris, and Quiberon. She traveled by train, plane, boat, and car. She ate everything, particularly broccoli stalks, and loved to play fetch with tennis balls and rocks on the beach. We will miss her very much.

She traveled further and wider than most people ever have a chance to in their lives. Two continents, at least 3 countries (she even had her own passport!), and countless cities and places - Boston, Lancaster, PA, Brussels, the Loire Valley, and who knows where else now?

All Lucie, all the time.

That's right folks, it's time for more Lucie!

In today's installment, we find out that Lucie has joined the raw foods movement, is an overspoiled brat, and that she likes to sleep with strange unshaved men. In other words, we're expecting that she'll make a great Hollywood starlet in due time.

Perhaps it's the i'll-put-anything-in-my-mouth movement.

For those who wonder how much Lucie has grown, just look back to November 8th.
It's been rumored that Lucie's got too many toys.
And it's true!

Les Petites Marionnettes

Greg sings to Lucie in French and she loves it. Les Petites Marionnettes is one of her favorites.

Lucie is also really fond of sitting.

Last night, Michele and Lucie had a talk...

Michele: "Lucie, you know, that rabbit's just trying to get in bed with you. He's never going to give you anything in return for all those hugs you give him. They're all like that, trust me..."

Lucie: "Mom, you are soooo clueless. I'm just in it for the booze."
This is what happens when babies drink too much beer...

Well, not quite, it's just green peas from the market.
Gimme some more of that stuff!
Keep it coming!
After dinner, Lucie likes to cuddle up with the New YorkerShe just devours it.The last big news: Lucie's learned to sit. And it's a blast!

The carrot affair

As Lucie reaches the 1/2 year mark (that's right people, 0.5 year!), she's learning a few things. one of which is how to handle a spoon.
or use it for karaoke
Michele tried to feed Lucie some carrot with said spoon.
but she was much more interested in a more hands-on approach (bowl courtesy of Marne and Todd in NYC).
Lucie kept trying to grab the spoon out of Michele's hand. Overall, this first meal was a success, as she ended up keeping about 70% of the food down.
She also had a piece of bread (isn't she a good French girl).
A friend of Aunt Morgane gave Lucie a nice sweater
