Hunting seagulls

Lucie went to the park to hunt for seagulls (she thinks that her father's cooking lacks variety). The poor unsuspecting victims knew nothing of their unfortunate fate and rested placidly on the shores of a dried out pond.Meanwhile, the predator slowly approached...
At just the right moment, she sprung into a sprint and charged the doomed birds while shouting her fierce battle cry: Duck! duck! duck!
Attack!
Unfortunately, the attack failed and Lucie went home to get her wheels.
She got distracted and decided to pick some flower's from grandpa's bushes.
You don't mind that I pick flowers, do you?
There, will you please hold that? I've some gull huntin' to do.

Lucie at the beach

Lucie went to the beach with her parents and grandparents. She really likes the beach, and is always glad to observe that the sea is still there.
Look over there, it really is there!
Lucie's parents now know why it's nice to visit with grandparents: you can actually enjoy the beach peacefully for once while the grandparents chase Lucie around.
Among her various activities, Lucie likes to wade in puddles
and to lift rocks. We're just glad that she hasn't managed to crush one of her toes yet.

xmas day

On Xmas morning, Santa visited - our guess is that he came with a special sleigh just for Lucie...

Understandably, she couldn't quite believe her eyes
She considered her options, and methodically opened all of her presents.
Soon, she was playing with all of them at once.
But she preferred the ribbon.
The biggest hit of the day, by far, is the mp3 player her grandfather got her.

Lucie's Xmas vacation

Lucie got a singing card from her French grandparents. She really liked it.
She's been getting a lot of hugs from everyone, and especially her grandpa.
Table manners have gone out the window.
Michele's parents figured they could have some time alone with Lucie if they got us away overnight, so they gave us a getaway to St Augustine - the oldest city in the US. We had a lovely time. In the meantime, Lucie traveled in style to Sea World (disclaimer, she didn't actually ride anywhere in this car)
At Sea World, she got to pet the stingrays.
She's really a fan of aquariums...
She had lunch with her grandparents, including French fries, it seems. While her parents were away, she went to the park, got on a swing, and had a good laugh.
She tamed one of the local alligators.
She also got to enjoy the pool with her grandmother.

Lucie goes to Florida

We're spending Christmas with Michele's parents this year, in Florida. They had the good taste to move here from Pennsylvania a few years back.

On her first day, Lucie went to the beach.

The waves were great fun with grandma.

On the second day, she went to the zoo
After being slightly worried by the parrots, she warmed up as we reached the...
giraffes! We were given crackers to feed them with.
Lucie was really unhappy: she wanted to eat the cracker.
The giraffes also eat straw, and you can get up close and personal with them.
Lucie warmed up to her long-necked friends.
She even agreed to share a cracker with one of them.
Hey! come back here and say thank you...
She also really liked the ducks.

Pigtails!

Lucie's hair is now long enough to make pigtails. Very cute.

Of course, she doesn't quite get enough to eat, and has to resort to eating paper. Poor thing.
Cousin Hugo came to babysit, and Lucie had him reading a book in no time.

What not to give a one year old - unless you want a headache

Like any normal child her age, Lucie loves anything that sings and lights up. Like any normal parents, we love the off switch on these toys.

Of course, Lucie also likes to play with whatever she gets her hands on, such as her diaper box.

Lucie watch, part 7,982,331,123,235,533,222,124,567,534

For Lucie, life's basically a blurry smiling beach ball.
She loves getting gifts, especially since they come in lovely boxes. Thanks Armelle!
Once in a while, the bear misbehaves...
At Thanksgiving, Lucie thought she'd have some champagne.
But mostly, she sticks to milk.
She also decided to try to help her grandmother who is knitting her a sleep sack.
