Meawhile...

roughly 8000 miles away, it's a whole different kind out zoo out there!

Swimming and a thank you

It took five days, but Lucie will now swim in the pool without holding anyone's hand. Lucie's great-grandmother in Phliadelphia kindly sent her some books and a card with stickers for her during her visit to Florida.

Disney World

Lucie's grandparents took her to Disney World.

Lucie went on some rides, including three times on the tea cups.
She visted with Dumbo.
And gave the White Rabbit a hug. Lucie actually has no idea who Alice in Wonderland is but since Easter wasn't long ago, she knows rabbits bring her chocolate and so therefore deserve hugs.

Go fly a kite

Lucie is really into kites right now. So no visit to the beach is complete without some kite flying.
We had really good wind too.
Lucie even got to hold the kite by herself.
After all that kite flying, the only thing left to do was come home and make playdoh worms.

Visiting the Zoo

Lucie has gone twice to the local zoo since she's been in Florida. Her first stop was of course to see the monkeys.

She took the zoo train with her grandmother.
Afterwards, we all went to the toddler swim area in the zoo where Lucie told me all about the animals she had just seen.

Lucie wants to take photos of the animals.

Lucie drove the zoo boat. Just kidding, but they do have a small boat that the kids can climb and play on.

Florida-ing

Lucie and I are in Florida to visit her grandparents for a week, while Lucie's father is traveling for work. I lost Lucie's summer hat two weekends before we left for Florida. One of our first stops was Old Navy where I found this funny sort-of cowboy hat for her. She will actually wear it too! Only problem is it does such a good job keeping her cover that you can't see her face in any of the beach photos.
Lucie had a great time playing in the sand and later jumping in the waves.

We also went to a Greek diner where they made Lucie a Mickey Mouse pancake with bacon for a mouth and chocolate chips for eyes. It was delicious!

More Easter

Since we are still eating our way through all of Lucie's Easter chocolate, it only seems fair that we continue to share more photos from our Easter weekend. These were snapped by a family friend.

Blog stats

It's now been slightly over a year since we started tracking access to our blog, and the results are in:

We've had 3524 visits from 437 different visitors (which is to say different IP addresses, not individuals) coming from 29 different countries.

The most faithful visitors are Lucie's US grandparents, who have visited the site no less than 1054 times from FL alone. Other frequent visitors include Lucie's great-grandmother from outside of Philadelphia, our Canadian friends, family in Bosnia Herzegovina and Belgium, and Lucie's Pakistani fans...

Some visits track the travels of a father who misses his daughter: UAE, Serbia, Philippines, a few hits from Pakistan, etc...

Interestingly, or perhaps disturbingly, there is traffic from places where we know nobody, such as Panama, Austria, or Sweden. Makes one wonder...
