Saint Petersburg

For Gregoire's parents 35th anniversary, the entire family trekked out to Saint Petersburg in Russia for a long weekend. We had a grand time all together and Lucie got a lot of attention from everyone. It was a somewhat symbolic journey as Gregoire's family comes, in part, from St Petersburg.

The weather wasn't all that, but the Hermitage is the Hermitage...
Lucie showed her "Dadou" a thing or two.
She danced at the St Peter and St Paul fortress.
There some nice chandeliers in the church where all of the Romanov tsars are buried.
Lucie posed for some pictures for her grand pere.
She played horsey with Dadou.
Gregoire's parents' had hired a guide for the weekend (you basically have to), and we had a very interesting visit, with much details about Russian history and culture.

Aunt Morgane ran around with Lucie.
Lucie trying to long jump from one lamp to another.
It's not a trip to Russia without a picture of a church with onion bulbs.
We all went to the Hermitage museum, and Lucie slept through the whole thing... Notice the beautiful wooden floors, though.

Various things

Lucie likes to eat soup with a straw, which we frankly don't mind since she's eating vegetables. In this case, the soup was delicious (and made by Michele - I point this out for all those who might doubt that she's an excellent cook), which helped.

Slightly more worrisome are her sitting manners, which leave something the be desired.
As part of the famous series "Religions of the World for toddlers", Lucie gives her opinion of the Buddha.

On a slighltly different note, I am of the opinion that Father's day should really be Father's day weekend. After all, there is a Memorial Day weekend and a Labor Day weekend. Makes sense to me (me = gregoire, obviously).

Stylish Lucie

Lucie has a definite sense of style. She often fights with us over what to wear, and she knows what she wants to look like.
Nothing like a pair of mom's glasses....
Cute, but devilish smile...
That backpack holds her most prized possessions, including an extensive collection of farm animal magnets and sometimes a ball. And of course, those are some very nice monkey PJs.

Lucie lexicon

Inspired by a friend who did the same for her daughter, we're putting up a list of words that Lucie uses regularly now that she's 20 months old. The problem with this list is that, just like computers, it's outdated the moment you put it out. But whatever...

There are also a few words that seem to have various unknown meanings, but we expect to find out soon enough what those are. There is a slight chance that haah! means yes, but we're not sure.
