Here are the last few photos from our New Years trip to Brussels. It snowed a lot, we were cold, but we drank lots of cheap, good beer, ate mussels and frites and even put mayonnaise on our fries. While he hates to be photographed smiling, it was a fun trip and Bertrand was an excellent tour guide.

While in Brussels we took day trips to Gent and Antwerp. I hear that Antwerp is supposed to be hipper than Williamsburg, Brooklyn, but we didn't see any hippsters, just Belgians eating brockwerst. You can tell the photos from Antwerp by the flashing "A's" on the buildings—very hip.

Greg, the dog, and I spent New Years in Brussels with Greg's brother, Bertrand. Bertrand was nice enough to take us all over the flat country, which turned out to Greg's surprise to not be all that flat.

Here are some pictures from Brussels: Bertrand and me eating Belgium waffles, a fountain with a statue of a little boy peeing (Greg took this picture), Greg and his brother, the tram, and oh no! the Ice Monster of Brussels.

Karen came to visit us in Paris. Okay, she was really here for work, but we did get to see her a bit. I went along while she visited the recently renovated Musée du Petit Palais. Here are the photos.

Gatsby is really excited to be toilet trained. (Thanks Charle for these photos too!)

Two summers ago, Greg and I rented a scooter in Paris and spent 1 weeks driving around France. Charles just sent me this photo of Greg and me. Its a bit old, but I thought it was to funny not to share.

Our Project for the New Year

Michele and Greg’s Recipe for Baked Pasta
We will keep you updated if this works.

Ingredients:

Citikitty Cat Toilet Training Kit
Cat Litter
New Ikea Table
Counter Top Oven
Pasta
Paste Sauce
Cheese
Estimated Time: 6 weeks

Recipe:
+ Buy Citikitty Cat Toilet Training Kit off the Internet and have it mailed to grandfather in the U.S.

+ Pick-up Cat Toilet Training Kit from Grandfather at Christmas and bring it back to France. Merry Christmas Gatsby.

+ Toilet train cat! (The website says this takes 3-6 weeks. Gatsby is smart. He’ll figure it out in 2.)
+ Remove litter box from the kitchen and order table from Ikea. Allow 2 weeks for delivery. (This step can be done at the same time as the toilet training).

+ Assemble table; 2-3 hours.

+ Buy counter-top oven from Darty during their after Christmas Sales.

+ Arrange for delivery; 1-2 weeks
+ Put oven on newly assembled Ikea table.
+ Buy paste, pasta sauce, and cheese.

+ Mix together and bake!

Serves 2 people, one dog, and one TOILET TRAINED cat
*** Warning: Be sure not to throw out the boxes from the table and oven in the morning or on Wednesday. Do this to avoid the gardien, Madam Diaz from taking your hand, dragging you into the trash room, and explaining to you in rapid French why you’ve done something (??) wrong.

The last few pictures from the coast of Cyprus.

We then spent the weekend with friends of friends in the Turkish Cypriot city of Famagusta. Here are photos from the Roman city, Salamis and a church turned mosque in Famagusta.
